Ingredients
- 500 g all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 200 ml water
- 75 ml vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp berbere spice mix
- 2 tbsp sugar
Method
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and berbere spice mix.
- Add the sugar and mix well, ensuring the dry ingredients are evenly distributed.
- Pour in the vegetable oil and water gradually, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth. Cover with a cloth and let it rest for 15 minutes.
- Roll out the dough into a thin layer (about 5 mm thick) on a floured surface.
- Cut the rolled dough into small squares or rectangles, about 2 cm each.
- Place the pieces on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, spaced apart.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the oven and let cool before serving.
