Ingredients
- 500 g ground beef
- 250 g ground pork
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 100 g bread crumbs
- 100 ml milk
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp salt
- 0.5 tsp black pepper
- 50 g butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 500 ml beef broth
- 200 ml heavy cream
- to taste lingonberry jam
Method
- In a bowl, mix ground beef, ground pork, finely chopped onion, bread crumbs, milk, egg, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
- Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 2.5 cm in diameter.
- In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat and brown the meatballs in batches until cooked through, about 8-10 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sprinkle the flour and stir to combine with the remaining fat.
- Gradually add beef broth while stirring to avoid lumps, and bring to a simmer.
- Add heavy cream to the sauce and let it thicken for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Return the meatballs to the skillet and simmer for another 5 minutes to heat through.
- Serve the meatballs with the creamy sauce, mashed potatoes, and a dollop of lingonberry jam.
