Natto and rice with green onions
Natto is a traditional Japanese breakfast food made from fermented soybeans, known for its unique flavor and sticky texture. Paired with warm rice and fresh green onions, this dish is a nutritious and energizing start to your day.

Ingredients
- 200 g natto, prepared
- 300 g cooked rice
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- to taste wasabi, optional
- 1 nori sheets, cut into strips
Method
- Start by cooking the rice according to package instructions, ideally using short-grain rice for the best texture.
- While the rice is cooking, prepare the natto by stirring it vigorously for about 30 seconds to activate the flavor and enhance its sticky texture.
- Add soy sauce to the natto and mix well, adjusting to taste. If you like a bit of heat, you can also add wasabi at this stage.
- Once the rice is cooked, fluff it with a fork and divide it into serving bowls.
- Top each bowl of rice with a generous portion of the prepared natto.
- Sprinkle the finely chopped green onions over the natto and rice.
- Garnish with strips of nori for added flavor and texture.
- Serve immediately while the rice is warm, and enjoy your traditional Japanese breakfast.
