Provoleta
Provoleta is a traditional Argentine snack featuring a round slice of provolone cheese, grilled until bubbly and golden. It’s often enjoyed with crusty bread and a sprinkle of oregano, making it a perfect appetizer for gatherings or weekend barbecues.

Ingredients
- 250 g provolone cheese, thick slice
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- to taste red pepper flakes
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 loaf crusty bread, for serving
Method
- Preheat the grill or a cast-iron skillet over medium heat.
- Drizzle the olive oil on both sides of the provolone cheese slice.
- Place the cheese on the grill or skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes, until it starts to bubble and turn golden brown.
- Carefully flip the cheese and grill for another 3-4 minutes until the other side is golden.
- Sprinkle dried oregano and red pepper flakes over the cheese while it cooks.
- Once cooked, remove the cheese from the heat and transfer to a serving plate.
- Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
- Serve hot with crusty bread for dipping.
