Ukrainian pasta with mushroom sauce
This comforting Ukrainian pasta dish features tender noodles coated in a rich mushroom sauce, perfect for a weeknight meal. Garlic, onions, and fresh herbs elevate the flavors, making it a satisfying and hearty option.

Ingredients
- 250 g pasta, any type
- 200 g mushrooms, sliced
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 150 g sour cream
- 2 tbsp fresh dill, chopped

- to taste black pepper
Method
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
- Add the diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in the minced garlic and sliced mushrooms, cooking until the mushrooms are tender and browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste, then reduce heat to low.
- Add the sour cream and mix well, allowing the sauce to warm through.
- Toss the cooked pasta into the skillet with the mushroom sauce, mixing until evenly coated.
- Remove from heat and stir in the chopped dill.
- Serve warm, garnished with extra dill if desired.
